Project Overview

Sistem Akademik (SIAKAD), a web-based academic information system i created specific for Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Jawa Barat that includes several essential features. It allows students to fill out their KRS (Study Plan Card) and KKS (Study Progress Card) online, check the availability of library books to see whether they are borrowed or available, make semester payments by uploading proof of transfer and view exam scores . This app streamlines key administrative tasks, improving efficiency for both students and faculty at STT Jabar.

My Contribution

As the Software Engineer for Sistem Akademik (SIAKAD), I oversaw the entire development process, using existing template from internet, collecting and converting data from paper to digital data and building full stack web-app.

Backstory

The idea for SIAKAD STT Jabar originated in 2013 when the administrative team at STT Jabar found themselves overwhelmed by student management tasks. With a small team also handling accreditation processes, the idea of creating an online academic system was proposed to streamline student services and enhance the institution's accreditation.

However, the implementation of SIAKAD faced challenges, as it was short-lived due to limitations in renting servers and domains. Additionally, many students at that time were not as tech-savvy as they are today, and only a few had access to the internet or owned Android devices or laptops. Despite these obstacles, SIAKAD served as an innovative attempt to modernize academic processes at STT Jabar.
